About the Instructor

Amelia Knezevich has worked in aquatics for over 25 years and has been an avid water enthusiast her whole life.  She grew up swimming competitively from age 6, swam varsity all four years of high school where she began playing water polo and then went on to play water polo for UCSB.  She began lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons while in high school and has turned her passion into a career.  Her experience includes coaching both masters and age group swim teams, leading group exercise classes, water personal training, group and one-on-one swim lessons for all ages from six months to 80+ years of age.  Amelia also teaches group fitness classes, strength training, arthritis mobility and yoga.  Amelia has worked with students with special needs and different learning styles including non-verbal students. She has designed and run swim programs throughout the US and abroad.

Having two children of her own, Amelia understands the importance of knowing water safety and learning how to swim as a lifelong skill.  Children love swimming with Miss Amelia as is evident in their smiles and laughter during class. Adults appreciate her way of breaking down strokes into easy to master swimming skills.  Amelia’s gentle approach to teaching will put you at ease in the water and allow you to learn in a safe and caring environment at your own pace.
